How to Choose a Crystal Bracelet (From a Palm Beach County Maker)

If you've ever stopped by our pop-up table around Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens, you've seen the bracelet bar: a long row of stretchy gemstone bracelets in every color, and usually at least one person standing in front of it saying, "Okay… which one is mine?"
It's the question we hear most, so here's how we answer it — whether you're shopping in person or browsing online.
Start with the one you can't stop looking at
Honestly? The best crystal bracelet is the one you keep reaching for. Before you read a single stone meaning, notice which colors pull you in. Deep blues, warm golds, soft pinks, earthy greens — your eye usually knows before your head does.
Then let the meaning be the bonus. Lots of our customers pick a bracelet because it matches their favorite beach cover-up, and later fall in love with what the stone stands for.
What the stones are traditionally said to mean
Crystal meanings come from centuries of tradition, folklore and personal symbolism. Think of them as intentions you carry with you — a little reminder on your wrist — not as medical claims. Here are the stones you'll find most often on our table:
- Tiger's eye — golden-brown with a silky shimmer that moves in the light. Traditionally tied to courage, confidence and focus. One of our best sellers, and it goes with everything.
- Amethyst — purple, from pale lilac to deep grape. Associated with calm, peace and a clear head. A favorite for anyone who could use a slower morning.
- Rose quartz — soft, milky pink. The classic stone of love, kindness and self-love. A sweet gift for a best friend, a mom or yourself.
- Malachite — bold green with dark swirls, like rings in a tree. Linked to growth and transformation, for when you're starting a new chapter.
- Lapis lazuli — deep royal blue, often flecked with gold. Long associated with truth and wisdom. You'll find it in our Lion of Judah bracelets.
- Black onyx — glossy black. Traditionally a stone of strength and steadiness. Easy to stack and very wearable for guys, too.
- Howlite — white with grey veins, like marble. Associated with patience and calm. It pairs beautifully with red tiger's eye.
- Labradorite — grey until it catches the light and flashes blue and green. Tied to intuition and new beginnings.
- Citrine — sunny yellow. Associated with joy and optimism. Basically Florida sunshine on a string.
Can't decide between two? Get the one that matches what you need this season. Lots of people end up with a little collection that follows them through life — courage for the new job, calm for the busy months, love for the year you're learning to be kind to yourself.
Diffuser bracelets: lava stone and essential oil
Some of our bracelets mix in black lava stone beads. Lava stone is porous, full of tiny holes, which makes it a natural essential oil diffuser you can wear.
To use one, dab a single drop of your favorite oil onto the lava beads with your fingertip and let it soak in for a minute before you put it on. The scent lasts for hours. Keep the oil on the lava beads only — some gemstones are porous too and don't love being soaked in oil. Our Lion of Judah diffuser bracelet pairs lava stone with malachite, and a few of our tiger's eye bracelets do the same.
8mm or 6mm? Bold or dainty
Most of our bracelets use 8mm beads: a classic, noticeable size that looks great on its own. We also make 6mm bracelets, which are daintier and perfect for stacking several at once, and a few 10mm pieces for a chunky statement.
A good rule for stacking: one bold bracelet, one or two dainty ones, and a little contrast in color. A tiger's eye 8mm next to a 6mm rose quartz, plus a cross bracelet from our Faithfully Rooted collection, is a combination we see walk away from the table all the time.
Getting the size right
Our bracelets usually come in 6.5", 7", 7.5" and 8". To find yours:
- Wrap a soft measuring tape (or a piece of string you'll measure afterward) snugly around your wrist, right where you'd wear a bracelet.
- Add about half an inch for a comfortable fit.
- If you land between sizes with 8mm or 10mm beads, go up. Bigger beads take up more room on the inside of the bracelet, so they fit a little snugger.
Buying a gift and can't sneak a measurement? 7" is a common choice for an average adult wrist. And if you're shopping in person, just try them on. That's what the pop-up is for.
Treat your stretch bracelet kindly
A few habits make a stretchy bracelet last much longer:
- Roll it on and off instead of pulling it wide over your hand.
- Take it off before swimming, showering or sleeping.
- Put on sunscreen and lotion first, then your jewelry.
Living near the ocean in Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens is a little hard on jewelry, so we're putting together a whole guide on salt, sun and humidity. Look for it here on the blog next week.
